WBA International Online Trumpet Academy

funded by the Werner & Marlene Schöder Foundation

The WBA International Trumpet Academy funded by the Werner & Marlene Schöder Foundation is a private academy in the higher education sector. We offer intensive professional education for trumpet students with a high practical component, complemented by indispensable cultural management skills for professional practice in the international area.

The main focus lies on the practical teaching of the increasingly expanding musical spectrum and learning contents that are individually tailored to each student. The objective is to ensure a high international standard that, in addition to classical music, also includes the area of jazz.

Our Faculty of World-Renowned Professors & Soloists

Our faculty of world-renowned Professors and Soloists is working in a rotating principle, which allows to engage the worldwide specialists for each subject area, to ensure the best possible education for our students.

This offers students of the WBA International Trumpet Academy funded by the Werner & Marlene Schöder Foundation the opportunity to study with a selection of the finest Professors and Soloists.

Our Educational Concept

Studying a brass instrument means having to learn many different disciplines that in our opinion cannot be taught by just one professor. For this reason, you will work with internationally renowned specialists in every subject at our Academy.

Technique (embouchure, endurance, high and low register)

Orchestra and solo literature (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Modern),

Chamber music,

Jazz,

etc.

Bringing together leading specialists has been the recipe for success of our Artistic Director Prof. Otto Sauter and his worldwide renowned training institutions for over 30 years.

Cooperation with internationally renowned Universities, Orchestras, Professors & Soloists

Intensive cooperation between our Academy, the World & European Brass Association, international Universities, Conservatories, Orchestras, Professors and Soloists offer students the opportunity not only to learn from a recognized team of international Professors but also to take part in exchange programs and to gain recognition among leading international personalities for their future careers.

September 20 & January 10

up to 100% Online Learning

The basis of our educational concept is a 100% online learning* approach. We use the advantages of distance learning**, through the recording of teaching units for pre- or post-study, as well as the educational offering of our extensive online campus.

However, the focus is on presence-based learning. We believe that the regular personal exchange between professors and students, the students among themselves, as well as the daily disciplined and persistent work with the instrument is the most important basis for a profound education of a professional musician. Therefore, unlike distance learning programs, in all our live-online classes attendance is mandatory.

Individual Blended Learning Solutions

Depending on the student, we can additionally develop a tailor-made blended learning*** curriculum. With our network of international Universities, Conservatories, Orchestras, Professors and Soloists we help the students to find internships to gain practical experience in exchange programs and orchestra assignments during their studies. At the same time, this offers orchestras and cultural institutions the opportunity to get to know our highly talented young musicians.

Guest Students

For those who are unable to attend the regular mandatory classes for personal or professional reasons, we offer the possibility to participate as guest students. You can passively participate in the live classes of our professors or follow the online recordings of their classes and use a large part of our extensive online campus. In addition, you can book individual private lessons with our professors and participate in all Open Brass Activities. Guest students cannot earn benefit points or graduate from the Academy. If you decide to study full-time at the Academy at a later date, we will credit a portion of the payments you have made.
