Sabine Kierdorf (Cologne, Germany) studied French, English and Economics at the University Kassel, Germany and the Université Paul Valéry in Montpellier, France. Already during her studies she worked for international companies like Degrémont SA (waistwater industry), Paris, the publishing house Les Presses du Languedoc, Montpellier and at international trade fairs and events. After her diploma in 1995 she started in the Media- and PR department of the international TV and Radiostation “Deutsche Welle”, Cologne, Germany. Priority of her activities were the organisation of events and sponsoring.
1996 - 1997 she was head of the editorial department for the casting of TV presenters, actors and artists at the “Pisacane, Kock am Brink OHG”, one of the leading TV- and casting companies in Germany. She also was producer of promotion film productions.
In 1998 she founded the multi media agency “Sabine Kierdorf media productions”. In 1999 she opend up her service for concertmanagement to organise all public concerts and music productions of “DeutschlandRadio” Cologne until 2005. Her company is located in Langenfeld, right between Cologne and Düsseldorf in North Rhine Westfalia, Germany. In the year 2000 she widened her service range to press service and as management agency for musicians, especially for the international renowned trumpeter Otto Sauter as well as his ensemble Ten of the Best with ten of the leading trumpet players of the world.
In 2000 she organized the TV Gala „A Salute to Satchmo“ for the 100. birthday of Louis Armstrong for the TV Stations ARD, ORF and SRG (Germany/ Austrian/ Swiss Television) with Maynard Ferguson‘s Big Bop Nouveau, Benny Bailey, Roy Hargrove Group, Philip Harper Quintett and Quenn Bey.
2001 and 2002 she took over the position as Manging Director of the soccer stadium Arena AufSchalke (today called Veltins Arena) owned by the soccer club Schalke 04 in Gelsenkirchen for concerts and event productions. With a max. capacitiy of 70.000 spectators, the Arena, which opened its doors in August 2001, was the most modern stadium of its kind in Europe. It was the first stadium with a mobile green, that can be driven outside and inside the stadium in a few hours and a roof, that can be opened and closed depending on the weather situation. In this time she organized two opening events with in total 80.000 spectators and a programme from football to music with e.g. No Angels and Lionel Richie as well as TV live transmission for SAT.1 and DSF.
In addition, she handled two concerts of the German pop group PUR with 100.000 spectators and TV production of the ZDF, a giant AIDA opera production on a stage of 10.000 m² with 50.000 spectators, as well as a folk music and moto-cross event with 20.000 spectators each.
With her French colleague of the Stade de France, Paris, she founded the European Stadium Cooperation with the most important stadiums in Europe: Munich Olympic Stadium (D), Arena Amsterdam (NL), St. Jakob Park Basel (CH), Camp Nou Stadium Barcelona (E), San Siro Stadium Milano (I), Stamford Bridge Stadium Chelsea (GB).
In 2003 she founded the Sabine Kierdorf media & eventservice GmbH and managed in cooperation with Otto Sauter a series of UNICEF-Gala events all over Germany e.g. with the Radiosymphony Orchestra Frankfurt, the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, the soprano Lucia Aliberti and the teenage stars Bro‘Sis for the 50th birthday of UNICEF Germany. For the UNICEF foundation of Ann Katrin Linsenhoff (German Equestrian Olympic champion), she organised the 1. Schafhof Festival.
Since 2004 Sabine Kierdorf manages the annual „Wartburg Festival“ on the legendary Wartburg, the UNESCO world cultural heritage, where Martin Luther translated the Bible, with artists like Lucia Aliberti, Justus Frantz, STING Guitarist Dominic Miller, Level 42 Keyboarder Mike Lindup, actor Michael Mendl and many others in the concert hall of the 1.000-year-old castle.
In 2004 she took over the selection of personnel for the executive cultural managers of the Hapag Lloyd cruise ship MS Europa, the only 5 stars plus ship in the world at that time.
In 2005 she managed the International Choir and Music Festival „Musica Sacra a Roma“ in Rome and at the Vatican with world stars of music and 32 choirs from 20 nations in 25 exclusive festival concerts in 4 days in the most important churches of Rome and the Vatican under the patronage of his Eminence Cardinal Paul Poupard, President Pontificium Consilium De Cultura, Vatican.
On the occasion of Mozart‘s 250th birthday in 2006, she organised the „Little Amadeus Aktionstag“ in German elementary schools together with Otto Sauter and the TV producer of the worldwide successful TV series “Little Amadeus”, Peter Will (KI.KA/ARD/ZDF), awarded several times with the „Echo Classic for Children“. Patronage German Mozart Association, Artistic Director Otto Sauter.
In 2006 she managed the „Playtime Live City Concert Tour“, the Germany-wide music festival during the FIFA Football World Championship 2006TM, supported by the Organisation-Committee of the FIFA World Championship 2006 TM. 16 free event concerts in cultural significant sites, like the Semperoper Dresden, the Wartburg Eisenach and the marketplace in the Händel City Halle were presented by „Otto Sauter & Ten of the Best“.
In 2007/2008 she managed in cooperation with the Volkswagen AG Wolfsburg, the Deutsche Post AG and the European Philharmonic Orchestra powered by Volkswagen, the “Little Amadeus Live” children concertseries under the Artistic Direction of Otto Sauter. The fascinating stage show with actors, original videos of the TV series, soloists and Symphony Orchestra was presented in about 70 concerts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in concert locations like the German Opera Berlin, the Gewandhaus Leipzig, the Mozarteum Salzburg, the Concert Halls in Dortmund and Freiburg, the “Gläserne Manufaktur” of Volkswagen in Dresden (Director Joachim Jäckel/Script Klaus Wirbitzky).
For the planned Cinema Movie of Little Amadeus, she organized the recording of the soundtrack with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra in Vienna, conducted by Maestro Zubin Mehta.
In 2008 she organised the premiere of the new trumpet concert of the Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis for piccolo trumpet and symphony orchestra, which was performed in October 2008 with a ring premiere in the philharmonic concert halls of Cologne and Berlin (Director Gert Hof/Arrangement Robert Gulya) with Otto Sauter and the Philharmonic Volkswagen Orchestra. In the same year she organized the Bernd Hummel Jubilee concert with Germany‘s most renowned actor Mario Adorf, Piccolo Trumpeter Otto Sauter and the Cappella Istropolitana (Bernd Hummerl Holding GmbH, KangaROOS, Flip Flops, Sportswear).
In 2009 she took over, in cooperation with 3 partners, the artist management of Gert Hof, the worldwide leading light designer, who directed the Millennium Events in Beijing, on the Acropolis in Athens, at the “Siegessäule” in Berlin, as well as productions like the biggest cruiseship baptism of the world, AIDAdiva in Hamburg.
In 2014, she managed the concert series of the Neuschwanstein Festival (Artistic Director Otto Sauter), one of the most famous castles in the world, built by King Ludwig II. in Bavaria, Germany.
She is Managing Director of the World & European Brass Association (Honorary Music Advisor: Maestro Zubin Mehta, Prof. Andreas Schulz Director Gewandhaus zu Leipzig, Ilona Schmiel Intendantin Tonhalle-Gesellschaft Zürich Switzerland, André Peyrègne Président Fédération Française de l'Enseignement Artistique Nice France, Mikhail Bryzgalov Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation Moscow Russia, Jimmy Wu Lumière Cinema Beijing China) that she founded together with her partner Otto Sauter as Artistic Director in 2014. The Association of international Brass Festivals, Universities, Orchestras, Concert- and Operahouses etc. has the aim to support brass music in concerts & events, highly qualified education as well as intercultural exchange of professional musicians, professors and students and maintains cultural parthnerships with more than 60 countries wordwide on all continents of the world, many of them located in UNESCO world cultural heritage places.
For the partner Universities and Conservatories of the World & European Brass Association Sabine Kierdorf is teaching Cultural & Arts Management and is Guestprofessor at the Universidade Federal do Amazonas, Departamento de Artes Manaus, Brazil and the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, China.
Initiated by Otto Sauter, she organized in 2016 for the 80th birthday of the world famous conductor Maestro Zubin Mehta, the Charity Gala-Event „Thank You - Maestro Mehta“ with the German TV presenter Thomas Gottschalk, the Austrian Soprano Eva Lind and the trumpeters Otto Sauter and Sergei Nakariakov. The event for the benefit of the Mehli Mehta Music Foundation with the Zubin Mehta & Friends Chamber Orchestra (Members of the Vienna Philharmonic & Maggio Musicale Fiorentino) was planned in the concert hall of one of the most famous Austrian hotels, the 5 stars Arlberg Hospiz, located on 1800 m altitude in the mountains.
In addition Sabine Kierdorf is specialized on head-hunting executives in the cultural and media branch, project- and personnel development as well as coachings and seminars for executives and managers of culture, industry, the bank sector and health system. As specialist for communication, she is focussing on subjects like „Intercultural Communication in Crosscultural Management“ and „Key Competences for Successful Communication and Management“.
Sabine Kierdorf developped a special communication and leadership training model for executives by combining her long work experiences as executive manager, personnel- and project developper with her personal know-how about horses. She is giving equine assisted communication and leadership seminars for managers of international companies and founded with partners of among others the University Vechta, the German Association for professional equine assisted human resource development (EQ Pferd e.V.). She is organizing these trainigs in her own horse stable where Otto Sauter and Sabine Kierdorf were breeding hanoveranian horses for many years and in exclusive partnership with the Hanoverian Breeding Association Germany, whose horses are having a unique status worldwide with countless medals at Olympic Games and international Championships.
